Arthur Samet joined the company in 1991
and succeeded his father as CEO in 2000.
Under Arthur's leadership, we have diversified from our commercial/industrial roots into high-growth segments such as multi-family housing, education, healthcare, technology, and high-rise buildings.
In the 1970’s we began to construct speculative industrial buildings.
This experience taught us how to 'think like an owner'. Our teams focused on the owner's objectives and financial goals throughout the planning and financing phase to develop creative approaches that enabled clients to make their vision a reality.

The Rosemary Street Parking Deck Project involves the demolition of an existing three-story parking deck and the construction of a new seven-level, 1,100-space precast parking deck spanning 365,043 SF.
The new deck features a ground-level ‘Porch’ facing Rosemary Street, with vehicular entrances at Level P2 on the east elevation and near the northwest corner of the structure, alongside a driveway extension to North Street. Additionally, a 30-foot-wide storm and sanitary sewer easement is along the eastern property boundary to accommodate the re-alignment of existing storm and sanitary sewer lines that cross the property.
Beeson Crossroads Fire Station 26 faced a critical challenge: its original design could not accommodate the two full-time crews necessary for effective emergency response in the area, including coverage for BCFD and KFRD Station 44. To address this, the station underwent a significant expansion and renovation.
The project included a 4,000 SF, one-story building expansion and the renovation of approximately 7,325 SF of the existing structure. The expansion introduced nine bunk rooms, six baths, a gym, laundry, kitchen, day room, mechanical rooms, a half bay, offices, a community/training room, and storage areas. The entire roof, both old and new, was replaced with architectural shingles. These upgrades enhance the station's ability to support emergency staff, improve response times, and ensure better service to the community. Samet teamed up with Balfour and Beatty to deliver and brand new 250,679 SF courthouse for Forsyth County, 50% larger than its predecessor. The project incorporated the addition of 18 advanced judicial spaces, including courtrooms and hearing rooms, specifically designed to ensure a streamlined working environment for staff and visitors alike. We made it a priority to create a high-security environment through comprehensive checkpoints, card access systems, and innovative surveillance tools.
Furthermore, the renovation saw the inclusion of a unique design element: an underground tunnel to facilitate the safe and secure transport of inmates from the Forsyth County Jail. With these upgrades, the Forsyth County Courthouse is not only geared toward efficiency but also towards providing a space that is safe, secure, and convenient for all its users.

To embrace its growth and consolidate operations, the City of High Point called on Samet to transform the former North State Building on Westchester Drive into a state-of-the-art headquarters and communications center.
The renovation and expansion of the existing 73,000 SF facility involved several key upgrades to the main building alongside the addition of two new features. These include a front entrance complete with a stair tower and public elevator, and a considerable extension at the rear, adding another 16,500 SF of space. This expansion houses a myriad of crucial functions, including a sally port, storage areas, processing facilities, kennels for the K9 unit, weight rooms, dispatch centers, and offices.

The main challenge in demolishing this fire station was determining where to temporarily relocate the fire safety team so they could continue operations seamlessly during construction. Samet proposed a temporary house to ensure comfort and efficiency during construction.
This approach provided several key benefits:

• Proved fiscally responsible and cost-effective for the city
• Saved taxpayer dollars
• Now serves as fire investigation housing
